Portage - Portage common council voted unanimously to deny claims made by Aspirus for years 2021 and 2022. Aspirus filed a claim of $525,779 for 2021 and $606,777 for 2022. The City has indicated it has no intent to pay any portion or part of the invoices based on its assertion that Aspirus failed to comply with a 1999 agreement. Aspirus claims the City's failure to pay the invoices constitutes a breach of the 1999 agreement. The City voted unanimously to enter a non-disclosure agreement with Aspirus to continue converstion on the subject.

MyCommunity411 previously reported on the Citys intent to start its own Ambulance service and have a referendum voted on the fund to fund the service. That article can be found here.
